Copyright Policy

Photographers own their work. IBARA responds quickly to credible copyright complaints.

Last updated: 30 July 2026

Who owns what

Creators keep full copyright over everything they upload to IBARA. Posting on IBARA grants us a limited licence to display and promote the work within the platform, as described in our Terms of Service. It does not transfer ownership.

Reporting infringement

  • Your name, address and contact email.
  • A link to the content on IBARA that you believe infringes your work.
  • Proof of ownership, such as the original file, an earlier publication or registration.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the copyright owner or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
  • Your physical or electronic signature. Send the notice to copyright@ibara.co.rw.

What happens next

We aim to review complete notices within five business days. Content that is clearly infringing is removed and the uploader is notified. Any points earned from removed content may be reversed.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send a counter-notice to copyright@ibara.co.rw with your contact details, the removed content, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was an error or misidentification. We will forward it to the complainant and may restore the content.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly upload infringing work are permanently closed.
